Dior Forever liquid foundation review

So I went to my local Dior counter to have a *look* and yep I got sold to and I caved!

The Dior girl had fab make up on so I trusted her judgement and she asked my skin type: normal to dry and what finish I like (matte of course!) and she recommended Dior's Diorskin Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Make Up SPF 25 in Ivory 010 £31 (I know steeeep! But it was payday...)

Dior's claims: "A new generation of fusional wear, fluid foundation. Its ultra-sensorial texture, bursting with made-to-measure perfecting skin care ingredients, melts into the skin for an absolutely perfect complexion that lasts all day long. The foundation blends seamlessly with the skin for a smoother, more even complexion day after day."

My thoughts: as soon as a put this on I realised that the shade I'd been sold was a touch too light, disappointing but nothing a sweep of bronzer couldn't fix.

It blended in well with my stippling brush but I just couldn't get it to buff right in for that flawless, airbrushed look, it kinda sat on the top of my skin and really exaggerated my pores even though I'd used benefit pore-fessional primer beforehand and I don't usually have an issue with enlarged pores.

The finish was quite full coverage (there was a red spot and my blue undereyes still visible) and was a lovely matte, although after a while my forehead got really shiny, which is also something that I don't usually have an issue with!

After a couple of hours wear it had sunk into my smile lines but otherwise was really long lasting.

This did feel quite heavy on my skin and I actually think this might suited oily skin better.

So, would I use this again? Yep! Would I buy this again? Nope! At £31 I'd expect something really really special and don't feel this is any better than my revlon photoready foundation at a more purse friendly £12.99 and a better colour match. This will definitely be a winter foundation as quite pale.

Do you have any foundation recommendations? I love to know!
